Muckrakers,
I just went to the Walnut Creek manager's meeting today to find out about the registration. It sounds like if we want to play this would be the best league for people working on Thursday nights and our performance in the Concord league last summer. One major rule change in D league is you can't touch home plate. People who have played on the co-ed team should be very familiar with this rule.
So far besides myself this who we commitments of playing this season.
Dave Taxier
Neil Hayes
Bob Leal
Matt Petersen
Luke Abbott
Joe Roderick
Rick Hurd (Emergencies only)
That's just eight players so far. The deadline to turn our team's
registration packet is Feb. 23. If I don't have a commitment from 15
players by Feb. 15 we're not going to do this. It's been too much of a pain to scrap for players at the last minute. I'll be sending Laurie Fox a draft of an e-mail I can send it out to the entire company. Hopefully I can send it out as soon as Monday.
I've figured with the $15 non-resident fee and the $6 player application fee and $710 team fee, the total cost will be $977 for a 15 player roster. That's $65 per person. If we actually get more of course the cost will go down. So after we get the right number of commitments, I'll have people register. When you register bring your check book. I want to get everyone's money before we register. If we get any late add ons after registration, they'll
pay the same amount and it'll go into a post-game beverage or post season cookout fund. With that said it's time to start recruiting. Hopefully, I'll be able to send out the recruiting e-mail on Monday.
Hope that covers everything.
Thanks,
Chris Wagnon
Muckrakers manager and interim GM
