WALNUT CREEK -- In a season of firsts, the Muckrakers experienced an unwanted first -- their first forfeit. Only six Muckrakers showed for Thursday's game, two short of the necessary eight needed to play.
The Muckrakers now have two weeks to regroup and muster a team. So to the six who showed up -- and to Bob Leal, who attended to supply moral support even though he's injured -- thanks for being there. Love ya. To all the others -- please make every effort to be there, if possible. All we want to do is play some ball.
The Muckrakers will undertake a massive recruiting effort in order to stave off future forfeits.
See you -- hopefully! -- on the field in two weeks.
