Opening Night ceremonies

The Hot Chasers announced earlier this week that West County Times prep editor Phil Jensen will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch before Thursday's Opening Night game against OHM Boyz.

"I am so thrilled to be given the honor to throw out the first pitch," said Jensen, a long-time fan of the Hot Chasers. "I wish I could tell you how happy and excited I am. I love you all!!!"

Among the Hot Chasers who will be receiving their 2004 awards during the ceremonies will be (comments from unidentified Chaser):
MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Randy Striegel ("Why do you think Chris is so worried that Randy can't play this season?")
CY YOUNG: Mike Wolcott ("The competition was slim in this category but he did it without his orange pants for much of the season.")
MANAGER OF THE YEAR: Chris Wagnon ("To sit through that last game shutout and still pretend we had a chance in the last inning, that's what a leader does.")
MR. INSPIRATIONAL: Rick Hurd ("We're scared to lose with him around.")
BEST PERFORMANCE BY SOMEONE WHO GOT THERE LATE: Dave Belli, who showed up late one game but still drove in the winning run with a single in the last inning. ("Better late than never...well, on second thought...")
BEST PINCH-RUNNER: Everyone who made an out before Lefty reached base. ("We're not sure if Lefty is faster going from home to first or from first back to the dugout.")

Game time is set for 8:25 p.m. The Hot Chasers expect a full house so fans are advised to take public transportation.
