MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT!: Yeah, I'm gonna be the MVP

THIS IS THE MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT (FINALLY)!
ANNOUNCING THE FIRST-ANNUAL “BOB LEAL KEEPIN’ IT REAL MUCKRAKER MVP” AWARD! 
I would think that all good Muckrakers could agree that if there’s any
Muckraker past or present worth honoring, it would be the gone (to Palm Springs) but not forgotten Bob Leal. Has there ever been a Muckraker who more lived and played the way a Muckraker should?

Bob Leal’s example should be a lesson for us all, a guidepost through this ballgame called “life.” And now, Bob’s ways will be immortalized forever with the creation of the Bob Leal Keepin’ It Real Muckraker MVP Award. The worthy recipient of this award will have the mojo of Bob Leal confirmed upon them, and they will also receive a prestigious “Hair of the Dog” T-shirt provided by, of course, Bob Leal.

Here’s how this honor will be decided. The week before the final game of the regular season, all Muckrakers will be asked to vote via e-mail for their choice as the 2007 BLKIRMMVP. Dave Taxier will tally the e-mailed votes and will announce the winner and bestow the prestigious T-shirt on the deserving winner during postgame ceremonies.

Perhaps this is not adequate repayment for all that Bob Leal has given the Muckrakers in all of his long years of service. And yet, it is something. With this gesture we can look Bob Leal in the eye and say, “Bob, we are not worthy, but dammit, we award this honor and we keep your spirit alive, as long as at least one Muckraker walks the earth!”
