Veteran Muckraker Mike Gale will be taking some hacks for charity as he is donating an hour in the batting cage for his good friend Dave Shabaz's Bat-a-thon in Modesto on June 23.
"I figured if Dave can go for 12 hours, I can chip in with an hour," Gale said. "Besides, after that last 1-for-4, I can definitely use some time in the cage."
Shabaz will attempt to bat for 12 consecutive hours, and several Central Valley legends will chip in some time and hit along with him.
All proceeds of the 2007 Bat-a-thon will benefit the American Cancer Society. The Bat-a-thon will take place at Funworks in Modesto, 4307 Coffee Rd.
