The Warriors come out to play, gang up and defeat the Muckrakers

WALNUT CREEK -- It wasn't much to write home about, or even blog home about, the Muckrakers' desultory 21-1 shortcoming sustained against the Warriors.

The game Muckies hung around for a little while, trailing 2-0 after three stanzas, but eventually the Warriors' bats livened up while the 'Rakers remained mired in the muck. Even when the Muckmeisters managed to smite a sphere solidly, the rocket found the glove of a fleet-footed Warriors outfield patrolman.

The only thing preventing an utter shutout was the lone tally pushed across in the fifth. Joltin' Joe Roderick singled with one out and was forced at second by 'Rakers rookie Mike Adamick. Matt Petersen followed with a blast that went for a double, plating Adamick. And thar she goes, the Muckraker (softball) scoring for the evening.

Much fellowship and good times were had at Artie's Countrywood tavern following the game, showing what the Mucksters lacked in offensive output, they made up for in the bonding experience.
